Our Vision
Our vision is to utilize existing and new community spaces for creative literary, performing, and culinary arts, especially to highlight and amplify the diverse voices and experiences of the Central Valley. POETICAS recognizes the value of access to creative spaces and performance venues in all communities and seeks to develop the community’s individual and collective ability to express, imagine, and materialize our voices across mediums and thus bring beauty, function, and wellness to the Central Valley starting with Manteca and other smaller and under-funded parts of The 209 that lack these services in inclusive and quality spaces.
Such spaces will include but not be limited to designated writing spaces, community theaters, production of community written and directed literary art, maker spaces, mobile and storefront commissaries, and cottage food operations, performing spaces, and community gardens.
Through education, celebration, and communication, POETICAS INSTITUTE has a unique vision to improve and uplift our community through a wide range of creative expression. At the heart of our work, we aim to uplift those who have been held down, held back, or left out. Our vision is to heal the spaces and spirits of our communities as an active and thriving entity in the region.
